Thrislington Cubicles sold to Californian company
Thrislington’s core business is the design, manufacture, and installation of washroom products for the commercial, leisure, health, and education sectors.
It sells products in North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, and has an annual profit of £2 million and employs a staff of more than 60.
Thrislington’s products have won multiple design awards and been installed in prestigious projects from Alice Tully Hall at New York City’s Lincoln Center, Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, the Doha Convention Center in Qatar and the Qatar Petroleum District.
Perthshire-based entrepreneur Simon Howie’s sale of Thrislington follows last month’s sale of two other firms under his Strata Group – Mermaid Panels and Shore Laminates – manufacturers of shower walls and wall panel systems.
These firms were sold to Wilsonart Engineered Surfaces, a global manufacturer and distributor of engineered surfaces headquartered in Austin, Texas in an all-cash deal of £30m.
Commenting on this latest disposal, Simon Howie said: “Thrislington has been trading extremely well and the new owners embraced the global reach of its products.
“Bobrick was quick to acknowledge the depth of talent and the quality of the IP in the business and, as such, a deal was struck very quickly.
“Bobrick is the right buyer for Thrislington. This is a strategic purchase for them and I am delighted that they have committed to keeping Thrislington’s base in the UK and to growing and developing the business.”
Matthew Louchheim, vice president, Bobrick, said: “We are thrilled to have Thrislington join the Bobrick family of brands.
“The talented Thrislington team has continuously raised the bar in washroom partition design and functionality and we look forward to making further investments in the company.”
Chairman of the self-named Simon Howie Group, Simon Howie is best known as the entrepreneur behind leading Scottish family meat business, Simon Howie Foods, producer of the UK's top-selling bacon, black pudding and haggis products.
Less well known is the fact that the Simon Howie Group has an annual turnover in excess of £60 million and employs almost 400 staff across a diverse range of industrial sectors encompassing property, waste energy, bulk goods handling and distribution and farming.
