HQ move creates jobs at UK Flooring Direct

UK Flooring Direct, which already employs 82 staff, relocated from the Bayton Road Industrial Estate to Logix Road on the Hinckley Commercial Park late in 2017 and is now on the hunt for new staff to expand the business.

The company sells a range of flooring including real wood, laminate and vinyl via its website www.ukflooringdirect.co.uk and also has a show-room for local trade and retail customers at the new Hinckley HQ.

The firm, which was established by Jason Ashby in Nuneaton in 2005 before moving to Bayton Road in 2010, is forecasting hitting £100 million turnover in the next four years as its reach has grown to the whole of the UK – as well as into Europe.

UK Flooring Direct is recruiting for a number of positions – from telesales and marketing staff through to project managers and customer services – to push through the 100 staff mark before reaching around 150 in the coming years.

As well as the move, the company has invested in major technology and systems upgrades as it targets significant growth.

Jason said the family company was proud to play its part in providing local employment and also in giving back to the community.

He said: “We are on course to keep growing as a company and we needed to make this move to Hinckley because we required more space.

“We are very much a family company and we do our best to make sure that this is a great place to come to work – in fact, it’s something that we pride ourselves on.

“At this stage, we are looking for around 20 new staff – particularly in telesales – and that is likely to keep growing as the business expands.

“We’ve got quite a few examples of people rising through the ranks with us who have become part of the management team and that is something we are big believers in.

We’ve also engaged with local colleges and universities as there are vacancies that would suit students looking for part-time work and graduates.”

He added: “We try to do as much as we can in the local community too by giving both time and money to charities and community projects – as well as supporting our staff in their own giving.

“It’s one thing to provide a great working environment, but we want to get to know our staff and for them to feel like they are part of a family here too.”
