Almondvale West Retail Park to undergo £3.5m transformation

The new store, which will be constructed over 2018, will sell clothing and homeware as well as offering concessions such as Lipsy, Costa Coffee, Paperchase and a barber.

The new store is expected to create 14 new jobs locally when the store opens and up to 50 jobs will be created during the construction phase of both the new Next store and the wider £3.5m improvement programme at the park.

Next is moving from its current location within The Centre, Livingston to a store more than double its original size at the retail park as it aims to provide its shoppers with a larger store with an increased breadth of offer and new brands.

In addition to the new signing, The Centre, Livingston is investing £3.5m to upgrade the park to include new shopfronts, cladding and pavements as well as new wayfinding. Car parks will also be resurfaced. The improvement works will start in February.

Gordon Anderson, project architect at 3DReid, said: “3DReid has sought to provide a distinct and high-quality appearance to Almondvale West Retail Park. The extensive structural glass façade to unit 1A and the faceted cladding to Units 2-5 present a significant aesthetic improvement to the fabric which distinguishes Almondvale West Retail Park from the adjacent architecture and connect it visually with The Centre.”
